Google

The Beginning of Google
Google wasn't the first search engine that Larry and Sergey originally made one in 1996 called BackRub. BackRub was designed to look at links connecting web pages in order to figure out if a site was giving trustworthy information. Larry and Sergey started their first data center out of Larry's dorm room.

Eventually, in 1997,BackRub, became Google.com and it was a registered domain name, on September 15th. The two then decided it was time to make Google a real company, so they started looking for investors, the first one they got was the co-founder of sun micro systems, and he invested $100,000. After they got their first investment, they filed for incorporation, and open a bank account for the company. They eventually moved from their small dorm room data center to a garage. With their new work space, and new investments, they finally decide to hire their first employee, Craig Silverstein, also a grad student at Stanford, who stays with Google for 10 years, before finally moving on to other things. Things grew fast for Google, and by February of 1999 they become too large of a company to work out of a garage, so they move offices again and bring 8 employees with them.

Google Today

Google is now the most most used search engine on the planet, with approximately 5,740,000,000 searches per day, in 2014. Other search engines tend to follow any changes that Google makes. Today Google is way more than just a search engine, they have so many useful apps, that are used by many people, lots that I use in school everyday, such as Google Drive, Google Classroom, etc. Not only do they have a lot of apps, but also a very reliable web browser, Google Chrome.
